Job summary

Guardian Rail is seeking Repair Technician positions in Queens. Incumbents will inspect and repair railcars to meet customer and industry specifications in year-round outdoor conditions. The role emphasizes mechanical work, welding, and tooling to repair various railcars and tank cars.

Requires rail industry or heavy industrial experience; a high school diploma or GED is required. A $1,500 sign-on/retention bonus is offered and compensation is competitive based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Must read and interpret safety rules, manuals and blueprints.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with hand & power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform railcar repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules.
• Conduct pre and post inspection of all assigned railcars.
• Follow safety protocols and in-house quality programs.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
