Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; railroad/mechanic experience preferred.
- Railcar experience and leadership experience preferred; accreditation is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Perform repair, maintenance, and inspections on railcars and freight car equipment per industry standards.
- Complete repair and application of piping, valves, guards, shrouds, and covers.
- Perform cutting, burning, welding, grinding, soldering, and brazing on components.
- Maintain trucks, underframe, structure, safety appliances, braking and draft systems.
- Report safety concerns and equipment problems to site designate.
- Complete daily reports and logs as required.
- Protect life, safety, and company property to best effort.
- Participate in company training programs for freight car mechanics.
