Job summary

ConGlobal is seeking a Railroad Switchman in Milpitas, CA to safely move railcars within our terminal. You will monitor track switches, inspect conditions, and assist with train assembly and disassembly.

This hands-on role requires physical strength and strict safety discipline. The position offers paid training, competitive pay, excellent benefits, and long-term advancement opportunities; work outdoors across shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years rail experience desired.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate track switches to ensure proper alignment for railcar movement.
• Inspect track conditions and switch points to identify issues affecting safe operation.
• Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars as part of train assembly or disassembly.
• Replace damaged or broken railcar connectors (approximately 75 lbs).
• Communicate with train crews and yard personnel to ensure coordinated rail movements.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and potential hazards in a high-traffic rail environment.
