Job summary

Professional Transportation, Inc. (PTI) seeks an Assistant Manager in Centreville, IL to supervise unloaders and checkpoint staff, ensuring safe handling of vehicles on/out of rail cars. The role requires outdoor work in all weather, coordinating with trucking partners and customers.

The ideal candidate will lead safety-conscious operations, monitor performance, and maintain strong communications with railroad customers while upholding PTI policies and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Full-time position available with weekend/holiday availability.
• Early start time at 7:00 AM and flexible scheduling.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Pre-employment drug screen and extensive background check required.
• Physically demanding role outdoors in all weather.
• Ability to operate related computer applications and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities of unloaders and checkpoint personnel.
• Ensure policies of the company and customer are followed.
• Monitor unloaders’ performance and assist with unloading processes.
• Oversee inventory control processes and scanning procedures.
• Maintain clear communication with railroad customers.
• Be responsive to customer needs as schedules vary; ensure safety.
