Job summary

Alpek Polyester USA, LLC is seeking a motivated Material Handler for the Pearl River site’s Operations team in Bay St Louis, MS. The role supports plant operations by shipping finished product and unloading raw materials in a continuous manufacturing process, requiring a safety mindset and strong ownership.

Responsibilities include loading trucks and railcars, breaking down and setting up raw material railcars, operating a locomotive, shuttle wagon, track mobile, and forklift, collecting

Qualifications

Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing stairs, traversing uneven surfaces, stooping and bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with a focus on safety.

Responsibilities

Load trucks and railcars with finished product.
Break down and set up raw material railcars.
Operate locomotive, shuttle wagon, track mobile, and forklift.
Collect samples from railcars and trailers.
Process bills of lading, COAs and load sheets for shipments.
Input data using computers, scanners, and manual entry.
Maintain rail yard inventory and update databases.
Coordinate between scale gate, coworkers, and drivers via radio/phone.
Perform general housekeeping.
