Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Rail Loader/Unloader in Savannah, GA to join our team. The role focuses on safely loading and unloading railcars, maintaining quality, and supporting rail operations.

You will perform daily inspections, basic maintenance on equipment, and help train coworkers. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and willingness to work weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Having experience in conveyor and/or mobile equipment maintenance is a plus

Responsibilities

• Loading and/or unloading railcars in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensuring all materials are loaded and/or unloaded and stockpiled to meet all quality control requirements
• Shoveling, sweeping, picking up trash, painting and performing general cleanup of plant areas and locomotive operations
• Performing daily preventative maintenance and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment under the guidance of designated personnel
• Operating equipment and performs other tasks within rail operations
• Performing daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintains maintenance log
• Performing maintenance or repairs on all plant and mobile equipment including some welding
• Participating in plant operations including production, quality control, loading and shipping
• Maintaining good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
