Job summary

WMATA's Metro is seeking motivated students to launch their careers in Project Management with Rail Transportation through a structured three-summer internship designed to provide real-world experience in project coordination, operational planning, stakeholder engagement, and leadership development.

Interns will rotate through departments such as Bus and Rail Operations, Safety/Emergency Management, Engineering, IT, City/Urban Planning and General business functions.

Qualifications

• Students enrolled in college or graduate programs seeking summer internships.
• Interest in project management, rail transportation or transit operations.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support project activities and assist in project coordination.
• Assist in operational planning and data gathering for reports.
• Contribute to stakeholder engagement and project documentation.
• Attend meetings and participate in training sessions related to assigned department.
