Job summary

Alstom in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Safety Manager to lead the site's safety program across light rail operations. This role reports to the General Manager and ensures compliance with OSHA, FTA, and local regulations while driving a culture of safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include policy development, audits, investigations, safety training, incident response, and reporting on safety performance to management and regulators.

Qualifications

• Mastery of safety principles and practices for rail and transit operations.
• Proven ability to prevent injuries, incidents, and environmental impacts.
• Completion of OSHA/ADOSH or equivalent safety coursework.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety program policy development, implementation, monitoring and enforcement.
• Provide safety leadership to operations, maintenance, and admin teams.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FTA, state and local safety regulations.
• Conduct inspections, hazard assessments, risk evaluations and audits.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for staff and management.
• Monitor performance metrics and report to management/regulators.
• Support emergency preparedness, response, and business continuity.
