The role requires a Bachelor's degree in construction or PM/engineering, at least two years of related experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to travel within Metra's six-county region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Project Management, Engineering or relevant field required.
• Two years of engineering or project management experience required.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure project management principles.
• Working knowledge of contract administration related to public works construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Basic knowledge of state and federal requirements for capital projects.
• Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and contract specifications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to perform conflict resolution.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Ability to provide leadership of interdisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of small to mid-range commuter rail capital projects to ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare budgets, cost estimates, scope of work, staffing plans, and schedules.
• Review plans and designs with SMEs for efficiencies and constructibility.
• Conduct on-site inspections to monitor progress and quality compliance.
• Administer contracts, review bids, approve changes, and process payments.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and prepare status reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants/vendors.
