Job summary

Caltrain is seeking a Project Manager to lead mid‑range to small rail capital projects from design to construction. The role reports to the Director, Capital Program Delivery and coordinates with internal teams, consultants, and regulators to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.

You will develop project execution plans, manage scope, schedule and budget, and provide executive reports on risks and progress. A PE license and rail experience are preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or construction management or related field.
• Three(3) years full-time experience in project management of construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the scope, schedule, and budget of Caltrain capital projects ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project objectives.
• Manage the project lifecycle from planning through closeout, including design, procurement, construction, integration, and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain the project execution plan for assigned projects as part of the PMP and update during each phase.
• Coordinate resources across Rail, external consultants, Resident Engineers, construction management staff, contractors, third parties and regulatory agencies.
• Provide board and executive level reporting on project status, performance metrics, and risks.
• Oversee contract administration, change management and ensure delivery through Designers of Record and Construction Contractors.

Education
