Job summary

Olsson’s Rail Traffic team designs and delivers traffic engineering solutions with railroad coordination. As a Project Engineer, you will help with traffic and preemption analysis, review plans, and coordinate with clients and other consultants on nationwide projects.

This role emphasizes ownership of project delivery, site visits, and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team, with occasional travel to client meetings and job sites.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 6+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Synchro, or similar software.
• Strong problem-solving and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and contribute to the review and preparation of plans and studies.
• Collaborate closely with team members on complex projects.
• Assist with traffic and preemption analysis and design.
• Travel occasionally to job sites for observation and client meetings.
