Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Motor Technician in Alpharetta, GA to build and rebuild traction motors for rail fleets. You will review drawings, stage parts, and prepare tooling, then disassemble and reassemble motors to meet specifications and customer requirements.

You will perform electrical, insulation, surge, balance, and vibration tests, install bearings, and reset regreasing systems. Maintain a safe, orderly workspace, support 6S, and document work precisely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Hands-on experience with machines, tools and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to document work accurately in written and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, disassemble, reassemble, and adjust traction motors to meet specifications.
• Complete inbound inspections, stage parts, and evaluate critical motor elements.
• Prepare and test assemblies including rotors, stators, seals, coils, and insulation systems.
• Install bearings, reassemble motors, flush regreasing systems, and perform electrical/insulation tests.
• Maintain a safe, orderly workspace and support 6S initiatives; document work precisely.

Your evening begins by reviewing drawings and quality standards, staging parts, and preparing specialized tooling. You methodically strip down incoming motor units, pull couplings with the proper pullers, and inspect key components before cleaning and reassembly.Through the shift, you handle rotors and stators, fit seals and pulse wheels, wind or set coils, and verify insulation systems. You press in bearings, flush and charge regreasing systems, and then bring each unit to life through electrical, insulation, surge, balance, and vibration tests. Between builds, you prep housings for paint, care for tools, uphold 6S, document everything precisely, and partner with supervisors and engineers to troubleshoot and improve the process.Schedule: Core shift is 5:30pm–4:00am.
