Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking a Welder Helper in Denison, TX, to contribute to the repair, tempering, and cutting of rails, frogs, switches, and other welding tasks. The role supports safe, efficient train movements across North America and offers a chance to work with a dedicated maintenance team.

Applicants must be 21+, possess a valid CDL, and pass an English assessment before interviews. The position requires physical endurance and the ability to work variable shifts with travel across

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
• Must hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B or ability to obtain one during probation.
• Must complete an assessment in English before interview.
• FMCSA medical qualifications may be required and determined by Health and Medical Services at Union Pacific Railroad.

Responsibilities

• Perform track maintenance activities such as repairs, installations, and component removals.
• Utilize load/unload devices to handle and transport track materials and equipment.
• Monitor track conditions and observe right-of-way and passing trains for issues.
• Operate equipment to drive spikes and tighten/loosen track bolts; use pullers to remove spikes.
• Maintain trackbed by replacing/compact ballast and unloading ballast.
• Foster positive relationships with colleagues, supervisors, contractors, and customers; manage conflicts.
