Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Track Laborer to help maintain the safety and reliability of railroad infrastructure in Beaverton, OR. You will work outdoors in all weather, using hand tools and heavy equipment to maintain, repair, and replace track components, with hands-on training and opportunities for growth.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to follow safety regulations, and strong communication skills. A CDL is a plus, and relocation is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Ability to complete written forms and reports.
• Experience with heavy hand tools and outdoor work is a plus.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus or willingness to obtain if required.
• Knowledge of safety rules, manuals, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and repairing railroad track using hydraulic or hand tools.
• Remove and replace ties and rails; drive spikes and manage ballast.
• Inspect tools and equipment for defects and safety prior to use.
• Follow instructions from a trainer, mentor, or supervisor.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
