Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry and place track materials using hand tools.
• Attach rail to ties using spike mauls or drivers.
• Remove spikes with claw bars and spike lifters.
• Lift and position railroad crossties within track structure.
• Connect and disconnect rail using track wrenches or welding materials.
• Move and tamp ballast using shovels and ballast forks.
• Raise tracks, crossings, and rails with jacks.
• Cut materials with torches, saws, and chisels.
• Drill holes with various drill motors.
• Work alongside heavy equipment and direct movements.
• Participate in safety meetings and wear PPE.
