Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Capable of lifting and carrying at least 75 pounds.
• Travel to various job sites, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Carry and place track materials using hand tools.
• Attach rail to ties using spike mauls or spike drivers.
• Remove spikes with claw bars and spike pullers.
• Lift and position railroad crossties in track areas.
• Connect or disconnect rail using track tools and welding materials.
• Move and tamp ballast with shovels and ballast forks.
• Raise tracks, crossings, and rails with jacks.
• Cut materials with torches and saws as needed.
• Drill holes with various drill motors.
• Work with heavy equipment and direct material movement.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
