Job summary

Watco is looking for a Track Laborer to help inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure. This is a manual labor role that requires proficiency in a range of duties during a prescribed training period.

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour. You will gain hands-on experience inspecting track components, performing maintenance, and operating equipment such as backhoe and track hoe while following safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass and/or obtain all required reporting, testing, and certifications for the position.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, load and unload rail components and track materials.
• Inspect, grind, fabricate and repair rail and track components.
• Inspect, maintain, repair and construct track infrastructure including turnouts and switches.
• Inspect and maintain road crossings, bridges, culverts and related facilities.
• Read gauges, schematics and maintenance manuals 100% of the time.
• Operate equipment such as backhoe and track hoe.

Skills

Valid driver's license

CDL (Class A) preferred

Education

High school diploma or GED
