Job summary

RailPros invites applications for a Track Engineering Intern position in Omaha to support rail infrastructure projects. You will assist with track geometry analysis, engineering calculations, design development, and project documentation while learning from experienced professionals.

Typical duties include supporting planning, design, and engineering tasks with mentorship and exposure to industry standards. ABET/EAC accreditation is preferred for the engineering program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
• 0–2 years of experience or related internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in designing rail and civil engineering projects.
• Perform alignment, draining, utilities, at-grade crossings, and earthwork design using AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRail.
• Assist in cost estimating, specifications, and construction submittals review.
• Assist in preparation of rail and civil plans for freight, commuter, and transit projects.
• Limited field observation on project sites before, during, and after construction.
• Collaborate with project managers to execute project deliverables.
