Olsson is seeking an Assistant Engineer for its Rail Track Team to contribute to track and civil design, project execution, quality control reviews, scheduling, and estimating. You will support marketing and business development, coordinate with technical staff, and promote efficiencies in producing quality work.

The role emphasizes teamwork, ownership of tasks, and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Engineer Intern certification (EI) or ability to obtain.
• Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design elements for track and civil engineering projects using standard techniques and methods.
• Perform entry-level plan production with clearly defined instructions.
• Gain knowledge and experience in design and modeling software.
• Receive guidance from senior staff on project schedules and calculations.
• Contribute to portions of broader projects under supervision.
• Gather and prepare research for technical reports.
• May mentor student interns and travel to project sites during construction.
