Princess Cruises and Holland America Line in Healy, Alaska, is seeking a Rail Technician to support our rail services team. You will assist senior mechanics in repairing and maintaining domed rail cars, perform nightly checks per FRA regulations, and help keep our facilities safe and compliant.

This seasonal full-time role offers on-the-job training, opportunities to work across maintenance tasks, and a chance to contribute to reliable operations in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in positions involving maintenance.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Willing to participate in random drug testing.
• Background check must be passed.
• Minimum age 18 to reside in company housing where offered.

Rail Technician (Healy)

In this position, based in Healy, you will receive ample on-the-job training that will be useful in many different maintenance fields! As a Rail Maintenance Assistant, you will help ensure our cars stay up to the required safety and operating standards. This behind-the-scenes position is a pivotal role in our daily operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist senior mechanics with the repair and maintenance of domed rail cars.
• Perform nightly checks and repairs per FRA regulations and compliance.
• Use software program(s) for tracking parts inventory and repairs.
• Routinely cleans and services HVAC-R equipment.
• Maintain workspaces and promote shop safety by cleaning work areas and removing hazardous materials such as oil, coolant, and other fluids.
• Test electrical circuits and other related components using electrical testing equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on buildings and grounds.
• Safely operate scissor lifts, ATVs, and forklifts.

REQUIREMENTS

• One year of experience in positions involving maintenance.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to be part of our random alcohol and drug testing program.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
