Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line seeks a Manager, Onboard Food & Beverage (OBM) for seasonal full-time work in rail services. You will supervise ground crew and ensure stocking, cleaning, and inventory of rail cars and stations, coordinating with management on passenger carload levels and daily checks in Denali.

You will also oversee nightly duties, conduct daily temperature and log inspections, and assist with end-of-month inventory tasks, while adhering to safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must have Alaska Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification; training may be provided.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a team environment.
• Must be able to lift 15-30lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with multiple tasks.

Have a desire to work outside enjoying the land of the midnight sun?! How our rail cars are stocked plays a huge part in the overall guest experience and success of our operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the stocking of all items placed onto our domed rail cars as well as supervising a team of individuals both on the train cars, as well as on the ground.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working supervisor position, will work alongside ground crew to supervise, motivate and complete tasks
• Ensure rail cars and ground stations are properly cleaned, inventoried, organized and stocked with appropriate products.
• Coordinate with management to complete the task lists and verify levels for each passenger carload.
• Facilitate checkout process of onboard kitchen staff and equipment daily upon arrival in Denali.
• Assign nightly duties to all ground team members.
• Complete daily cooler and freezer inspections, ensure all logs and forms are collected and filed correctly.
• Assist in end of month inventory duties and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid driver’s license (not revoked or suspended) with no more than 2 moving violations
• Three years’ experience in positions involving warehouse, inventory or food handling preferred
• Supervisory experience in a kitchen or business environment.
• Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized point of sales (POS) systems.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 is required.
• Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Have current or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification. If needed the company will provide training for ServSafe.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Must be able to regularly lift 15-30lbs and frequently move up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
