Job summary

Cando Rail is hiring Switchman/Conductors to perform safe rail car switching in a team environment. You’ll operate locomotives and assist with switching, derails, coupling, and safety procedures while delivering quality service to customers.

We value teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are preferred, with ongoing training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred in locomotive operation or switching.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Customer-oriented experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation of locomotive and train movements with clear briefings.
• Operate switches, derails, and manage air hoses to switch cars.
• Provide protection of train, track, and equipment.
• Perform inspections and tests on brakes and safety devices.
• Complete daily reports and logs.
• Provide excellent customer service and teamwork.
