Job summary

RailPros is seeking a Rail Structures Design Intern in Chicago, IL to contribute to the design and development of rail projects, focusing on bridges, culverts, and retaining walls. You will gain hands-on experience with CAD software and work with experienced professionals.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (ABET/EAC accredited) with no prior work experience required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
• No prior experience required for this internship.
• Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Team collaboration and attention to detail are valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design development with the rail design team and engineers.
• CAD modeling and drafting using Microstation to produce drawings.
• Collect and analyze data relevant to rail projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers; communicate progress clearly.
• Participate in QA/QC to ensure designs meet standards.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
