Job summary

Modern Railway Systems, a subsidiary of Stacy Witbeck, is seeking a Signal Foreman in Charlotte to oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of railway signaling systems. You will lead a team of signal technicians, ensure safety standards, and coordinate schedules to minimize service disruptions.

The role requires at least 5 years on rail transit projects and 2 years as a signaling foreman, with strong leadership, communication and the ability to travel to multiple nationwide projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years working on rail transit projects.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Signaling foreman.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing, a CDL and a crane operating certificate is a plus
• Able to interpret project documents including blueprints, specifications, workplans, safety rules, and regulations.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize, develop, execute and communication vision, plan, schedules and goals to crew.
• Knowledge of wayside equipment and train control systems.
• Ability to use computer software including Microsoft Suite and Bluebeam.
• Ability to perform physical work in a field environment including bending, lifting, carrying.
• Ability to utilize hand and power tools.
• Excellent vision and hearing.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and common sense.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as a contributing and essential team player.
• Ability to travel to various projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance and repair of railway signaling systems.
• Lead a team of signal technicians and workers.
• Coordinate work schedules and inspect completed work for safety compliance.
• Respond to emergencies or malfunctions on the rail network.
• Pre-plan work activities with Superintendent to develop best means and methods, including safety action plans.
• Plan day-to-day operations and ensure resources are in place for timely completion.
