Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Conover, NC is hiring a Slitter Operator (Operator A) on 1st shift. The role involves operating a slitter to ensure material meets customer specifications and maintaining smooth production flow. Candidates should have at least 2 years of machine operation experience and basic SAP/UKG knowledge is preferred.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–11:00pm with an hourly rate of $22.02–$22.75. Excellent health insurance, profit-sharing, and tuition reimbursement after 1 year are offered.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Slitter Operator (Operator A) on 1st shift our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for operating of slitter machine to ensure material complies with customer specifications.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Slitter Operator, you will be expected to operate the slitter to ensure maximum usage of bun/sheet stock material with a minimal generation of trim material.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used in the manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

Essential Functions:

Operate Bun Railing Saw and other bun slicing saws.

Perform cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications.

Maintain and help with consistent production flow.

Unload finished cut foam/fiber material and transport to next production area.

Ability to work well with other in a team environment.

Skills and Requirements

• Must have basic computer knowledge and use
• Must have basic math skills
• Must have basic knowledge of polyurethane foam
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. throughout shift
• Must be willing to work flexible hours
• Must have stable work history
• Experience/Knowledge in (SAP) preferred
• A minimum of 1 year experience in Forklift preferred
• A minimum of 2 year's previous machine operation/cutting experience required

Your additional responsibilities will be cross trained to operate other cutting machines in the department. Other tasks as deemed necessary by supervision.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm depending on business needs

Hourly Rate: $22.02 - $22.75

Non-Essential Functions:

Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification
