Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is hiring a Transportation Rail Officer 1 in New Haven, CT. The role supports the Office of Rail, Safety and Security, focusing on risk-based analysis, safety certification for capital rail projects, and coordination with FRA/FTA and partner agencies.

The position requires working near live rail traffic, collaboration with multiple CTDOT bureaus and stakeholders, and potential telework after a probationary period.

Formación

• Six (6) years of experience in a professional or technical capacity in a railroad or railroad related organization.
• College training may substitute for the General Experience; Bachelor’s degree can substitute partially or fully.
• Experience with contract management or project management is preferred.
• Experience using COMPASS, ProjectWise Explorer, and MS Office Suite especially Excel/SharePoint/Teams/Outlook.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in rail transportation projects and activities across operations, equipment, construction, maintenance, capital projects, finance, and administration.
• Prepare technical documents, schedules, contracts, leases, and project budgets.
• Coordinate with local, regional, state and federal agencies; support safety and security initiatives.
