Job summary

Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA) is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to plan and execute rail projects across Virginia, ensuring on-schedule, within-budget delivery and adherence to contractual obligations. The role involves developing scopes, negotiating contracts, and overseeing delivery in support of Transforming Rail in Virginia.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required in a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of direct project management experience in multi-million infrastructure projects (rail-focused).
• Experience with engineering/design activities for rail projects and familiarity with railroad principles.
• Proven ability to manage contractors from procurement to close-out.

Responsibilities

• Lead oversight of Virginia-wide projects coordinating with CSXT, NS, VRE, Amtrak, and federal/state/local entities.
• Manage budgets, schedules, quality, and safety for projects.
• Develop project scopes, fees, and schedules for design contracts.
• Ensure deliverables meet VPRA quality standards and criteria.
• Travel statewide; attend conferences as needed.
