Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee the safe and efficient execution of railcar switching, loading, and terminal operations at our Columbus facility. You will coordinate daily logistics, manage railcar movements, and provide frontline leadership with a strong safety focus.

The role requires managerial experience, a solid understanding of rail operations, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in rail operations or bulk material handling environments preferred.
• Managerial experience is a MUST!
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily railcar washing, switching, and loading.
• Oversee safe railcar switching and positioning operations within loading structures.
• Ensure accurate product loading in accordance with customer documentation and operational requirements.
• Perform and verify product sampling procedures associated with railcar loading.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation, tracking, and reporting of operational activities.
• Coordinate and oversee safe rail operations and switch lists based on priorities.
• Lead and support 5S initiatives within the facility.
• Provide timely operational reporting and updates to management.
