Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals in Stockton, CA is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a specialized team in planning, organizing, and managing operations, including chemical loading and warehouse activities, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

This role requires hands-on leadership, budgeting and P&L involvement, strong vendor relationships, and the ability to work outdoors in varied climates; weekend or night support may be required.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or business.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of management experience preferred.
• 5+ years of chemical loading experience preferred.
• 3-5+ years in transloading, warehouse, logistics, rail, trucking, or terminal operations.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied climates.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday 7am-5pm, with some weekends/nights for 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a specialized team in planning, organizing, and managing operations.
• Ensure chemical loading and warehouse activities are performed safely and efficiently.
• Participate in budget preparation, manage profit and loss, and communicate with customers/railroads.
• Provide consistent service to customers on every shift.
• Promote a safety culture and personal responsibility for safe behaviors.
• Develop and execute a business plan including budgeting and cost management.
• Build strong vendor relationships and support 24/7 operations.
