Job summary

Norfolk Southern is seeking motivated individuals to join our Transportation Operations Management Trainee program, designed to provide foundational training and leadership development for a career in Rail Operations Management.

Trainees will gain hands-on experience overseeing train operations, managing conductors and locomotive engineers, and ensuring safe and efficient movement of freight across our 22-state network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in any field; graduation before start date.
• Minimum of four years of leadership experience in military, manufacturing, transportation or logistics.
• Military personnel with relevant roles are encouraged to apply (as listed).

Responsibilities

• Oversee train operations and coordinate conductors and locomotive engineers.
• Ensure safe and efficient movement of freight across NS's 22-state network.
• Participate in conductor certification and leadership development training.
