Job summary

WMATA's Rail Modernization Team invites students to contribute to shaping the future of public transportation through a hands-on internship. You will support critical rail infrastructure and signaling projects, working with industry experts on the Red Line modernization and related initiatives.

This introductory position offers exposure to engineering, technology, and operations within a transit environment.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or GED; enrolled in a college/university pursuing a related degree.
Major must align with the academic and functional requirements of the position.
Must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
Progressive internships may require favorable prior summer performance.

Responsibilities

Compile, review and analyze data; input data for reports.
Research data for and assist in management, operations, technical and administrative reports.
Produce reports, presentations, and data visuals or project plans.
Review reports to identify problems and propose solutions as instructed.
Participate in training sessions and attend meetings to gain exposure.
Participate in and/or lead departmental meetings.
