Job summary

CSX in Baltimore is seeking a senior leader to direct outsourced vehicle maintenance, repairs, and upfitting across a broad region with 24/7 operations, focusing on safety, quality, compliance, and cost control.

You will validate repair scopes, coordinate with vendors and internal budget owners, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory standards are met.

Extensive travel (60–80%) and irregular hours are expected, with a focus on accountability and reliable fleet readiness.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading outsourced vehicle maintenance and upfitting programs.
• Ability to evaluate repair estimates, pricing, and invoices for necessity and value.
• Strong vendor management skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and other regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations to ensure safety, quality, and cost control.
• Approve repair scopes and validate completed work against standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, upfitters, and budget owners on spend.
• Monitor fleet readiness and report on performance and cost trends.
