Job summary

Timken is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for NA Rail Services to drive process standardization and continuous improvement across North American rail bearing reconditioning and assembly operations. You will design and optimize equipment, fixtures, and automation, work with SAP and CAD tools, and support lifecycle projects from concept through commissioning.

Ideal candidates have 0–5 years in engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with operations teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 0–5 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with CAD software through coursework or employment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, develop, and maintain manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automation systems using CAD platforms.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, schematics, manuals, revisions, and technical records within SAP ECTR/PLM systems.
  • Support equipment projects from concept development through design, fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning, qualification, and lifecycle support.
  • Serve as the technical owner for manufacturing equipment and process solutions while supporting site and enterprise engineering initiatives.
  • Drive process capability, reliability, repeatability, productivity, and cost improvements through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, testing, and implementation of corrective actions.
