Job summary

Vancer seeks a Fleet and Equipment Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair trucks and rail fleet equipment. This includes DOT, FRA, and crane inspections, diagnosing engines, HVAC, electrical, hydraulics, and drivetrains. Heavy equipment service may be required.

Work is performed in the shop, with potential overtime and on-site customer locations. Techs reference manuals and diagnostic software, identify warranty coverage, process claims, and submit daily service reports.

Qualifications

• Performs performance and diagnostic tests to evaluate truck/equipment condition.
• Performs DOT, FRA and crane inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Diagnoses and repairs engines, HVAC, electrical, hydraulics, transmissions and braking systems.

Responsibilities

• References service manuals and catalogs to identify faults and verify repair specs.
• Identifies warranty coverage, processes claims, and returns cores/remanufactured components.
• Performs in-shop or field service, potentially overtime or overnight assignments.
