Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation in Littleton, MA is seeking a Field Engineer - Rail to support on-site engineering, safety compliance, and quality control across heavy civil railroad projects. You will help coordinate schedules, review plans, and oversee daily field activities to ensure work meets project specs and is completed efficiently.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or two years of relevant experience in heavy civil construction projects.
• Preferred 2+ years' construction field experience on heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and BlueBeam; experience with HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, and P6 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in project functions and duties on site.
• Promote and enforce Safety Policies and the company’s core Safety Value.
• Develop and implement construction strategies to perform work safely and productively.
• Support development of CPM schedules and project management plans.
• Assist in budgeting, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material planning.
• Participate in project close-out, submittals, RFI process, and QA/QC records.
• Prepare design calculations and drawings for project components.
• Track progress, cost reporting, and cash flow projections.
• Support field surveying, layout, and as-built data collection.
• Provide overall support to field operations.
