Job summary

RailWorks is seeking a 2nd Term Mechanic Apprentice with field service experience for our heavy equipment maintenance team. The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

A safety-oriented mindset and the ability to work in a team are essential. Preferred candidates will have railway experience, own tools, and a DZ or higher license.

Qualifications

• Must be a 2nd Term Mechanic Apprentice with field service experience.
• Rail experience is an asset.
• Own tools required and a DZ or higher license is an asset.
• Safety orientation is essential in a labour-driven environment.
• Able to read and follow mechanical/hydraulic/electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of heavy rail equipment and related machinery.
• Read blueprints, service manuals and schematic drawings.
• Inspect, test and repair components with limited resources in outdoor environments.
