Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Rail Equipment Maintenance Operator for its North America field operations.

This field-based role provides full training for motivated individuals with a background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or heavy equipment operation, to work outdoors and travel across railways. You will operate and maintain specialized rail maintenance equipment, perform hands-on maintenance and repairs, and collaborate with teammates to ensure safety and performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• No rail experience required—we’ll train you!
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Loram’s rail maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform hands‑on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety compliance.
• Communicate effectively with the team via radio, in-person, and written methods.
• Follow FRA, OSHA, and Loram safety protocols at all times.
