Job summary

Kershaw Equipment LLC, located in Montgomery, AL, is seeking an Electrical Technician to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems on maintenance-of-way equipment. You will read blueprints, follow codes, calibrate equipment, and troubleshoot issues to keep machines operating reliably.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience, basic math skills, and the ability to work with PLCs and IT networks.

Qualifications

• Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Working knowledge of electrical theory and related materials and equipment.
• Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.
• Apprenticeship or technical/vocational degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
• Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning.
• Read and work with Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
• Calibrate equipment to provided specifications.
• Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs.
• Perform maintenance on IT networks and operate various powered equipment.
