Job summary

Herzog Contracting Corp. in Rancho Cucamonga, CA seeks a Training Manager for Track, Structures, and ROW to oversee safety training programs and regulatory compliance. The role reports to the safety leadership team and focuses on implementing OSHA/FRA standards across projects.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $150,000 per year with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to lead site-based training initiatives for railroad construction operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in occupational safety, railroad safety, construction safety, industrial safety, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, FRA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Experience conducting safety training, inspections, audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and track training records and required safety documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, management, subcontractors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to identify unsafe conditions, recommend corrective actions, and work independently in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and communicate current OSHA, FRA, and other applicable regulations; advise management of revisions.
• Promote compliance with safety programs through training, education, communication, and field engagement.
• Conduct new-hire orientations, refresher training, safety courses, daily safety meetings, and hazard analysis activities.
• Lead and administer the area’s on-the-job training program; monitor training records.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and audits; identify unsafe acts and ensure corrective action.
