Job summary

North American Rail Solutions seeks a Foreman I to lead daily track maintenance and construction activities in outdoor settings. You will supervise field crews, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate with project managers to deliver work on schedule.

Responsibilities include conducting briefs, delegating tasks, inspecting work, and operating heavy equipment while ensuring FRA compliance and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years railroad/track maintenance experience with 1+ year supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and grade plans.
• Knowledge of FRA regulations and track maintenance standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew activities and briefings on goals, safety, and performance.
• Delegate tasks based on crew capabilities and assist with labor.
• Perform inspections and quality checks on completed work.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers to align schedules and resolve issues.
• Maintain reports, timesheets, equipment logs, and project documentation.
• Train and mentor crew members to promote safety and skill development.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in incident reporting.
