Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Rail Construction Inspector in Atlanta to join our freight rail construction management team. You will work as an employee-owner on projects that support the movement of goods and people, collaborating with clients, designers, and field teams.

The role involves leading field activities, reviewing plans, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams across projects. Local candidates are preferred and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction or equivalent experience; PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Manage all field aspects of rail construction projects with clients and teams.
• Serve as internal support and client contact for assigned rail projects.
• Review and verify plans, schedules, and estimates.
• Travel to project locations for ongoing/upcoming projects.
• Develop and manage scope, budget, and schedule with stakeholders.
• Generate daily/weekly reports documenting contractor activities.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to manage workload.
