Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Rail Construction Engineer to join our Albany, NY team. The role focuses on coordinating and inspecting railroad construction projects, ensuring plans and specifications are followed and communicating with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities include reviewing work plans, leading coordination meetings, collecting field data, and monitoring schedule and safety compliance across multiple projects in the region.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or engineering technology preferred.
• Prior internship/work experience in construction management and/or inspection of civil infrastructure is a plus.
• Prior experience in the railroad industry is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Background check and pre-employment/random Drug & Alcohol screening may be required.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand plans and specifications for construction coordination and inspection tasks.
• Review construction work plans for conformance with client standards and prepare summary letters.
• Coordinate and communicate between owners, contractors, designers and other parties.
• Provide timely responses to client communications.
• Lead or participate in construction progress/coordination meetings.
