Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking Conductor trainees in Aberdeen, SD area. This full-time role requires working nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call duties. Travel to training and assignments is required, with company-paid on-the-job and classroom training lasting up to 19 weeks, including trips to Overland Park, KS.

Entry rate is approx. $259.65 per day with an average annual salary of $70,000 - $82,000. Relocation assistance is not available and a 60-day probationary period applies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be 18 years of age or older by start date.
• Able to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Capable of working safely in required conditions and shifts.
• Able to travel as required.
• Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Able to identify and interpret hand signals and judge speed/distance of moving objects.
• Able to see colors and night vision to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, and act on information for daily operations (oral and written).
• Operate track switches and derails to change train routing.
• Inspect and prepare trains and equipment per regulations; monitor track conditions.
