Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Conductor Trainee in Grand Forks, ND. You will learn to manage train operations, signals, and safety procedures while supporting the Transportation department's mission to move freight efficiently.

This is a full-time role with on-call hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Training lasts up to 19 weeks, with company-paid on-the-job and classroom instruction, including travel to Overland Park, KS. A 60-day probation and potential recall obligations apply.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications include: ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Age 18+ by start date.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to work in safety-sensitive environments.
• Ability to work various shifts and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor daily work communications and train operations.
• Operate track switches and derails to route trains and ensure proper alignment.
• Inspect trains and equipment per federal regulations and report conditions.
• Work in diverse weather and safety-sensitive conditions.
