Qualifications

• Must be able to pass training and required testing.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read switching orders and follow directions from supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable, reliable attendance.
• Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
• Operate locomotive in yard per railroad rules and signals.
• Maintain records of cars switched and cargo origin/destinations.
• Communicate switching information via radio with the team.
• Assist with switching operations and safety procedures as needed.
