Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED or TASC.
• Completion of vocational/apprentice training as Machinist or Mechanic or two years of related mechanic experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair car body components on rail rolling stock.
• Install carbody glazing (windows) on rail rolling stock.
• Inspect air brake systems and train components per regulations.
• Perform welding on components and troubleshoot equipment.
• Record required information to comply with Metro-North and regulatory requirements.
