Job summary

RailWorks in Augusta, GA is seeking a Craft Foreman to direct work groups on active railway property and in construction zones. You’ll ensure contractors clear the working zone before a train approaches, reducing delays to operations.

The role requires at least 4 years in rail, with knowledge of safety regulations, strong communication, and the ability to manage field teams in live environments.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years related job experience in the railway industry.
• Experience with timber bridge repair preferred.
• Track Inspection Guidelines certification is an asset.
• Ability to read schedules, railway plans and specifications.
• Ability to work in a safety sensitive position directing work groups on live routes.
• Knowledge of railway safety regulations and hazards.
• Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
• Proficient use of computers and tablets.

Responsibilities

• Embrace safety culture and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Conduct daily briefings so contractors understand site instructions.
• Review the work site daily and discuss hazards with supervisors or contractors.
• Set up, reposition, and dismantle railway signals at designated locations.
• Communicate with work group, other flagmen, and Rail Traffic Controllers using radio.
• Operate company vehicles and perform maintenance/inspections.
• Perform special duties as assigned by the Capital Supervisor.
• Handle administrative duties per the Quality Management System.
