GFT, a privately held AEC firm, is seeking a Bridge Engineer - Rail to join its Transportation Team in the Chicago area. The role focuses on complex rail bridge design, rehabilitation, and inspection in support of large infrastructure projects.

You will lead design tasks, prepare load ratings, and develop construction documents while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Travel across the continental U.S. is expected; a PE license is highly valued.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering (ABET) required.
• Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience with emphasis on structural design for Class I and transit bridge projects.
• PE License is required/ highly valued.
• Familiarity with AREMA standards and Class I railroad bridge requirements.
• Experience with engineering design packages and structural analysis software.
• Proficient in MS Office and referenced design tools.

Responsabilidades

• Perform structural bridge analysis and design per AREMA and owner standards.
• May inspect railway and highway bridges.
• Ensure accuracy of designs, load ratings, and plans with quality control.
• Coordinate with team to meet budgets and schedules.
• Review calculations and drawings prepared by others.
• Assist with CADD drawing development and project documentation.
• Travel within the continental United States as needed.
