Job summary

Champions Oncology, Inc. in Rockville, MD is seeking a Facility Operations Technician to support receiving, verification, and distribution of supplies and non-hazardous radioactive isotopes used in radiopharmaceutical development.

You will perform radiation surveys and wipe tests, maintain chain-of-custody and inventory, and ensure waste is managed safely in accordance with radiation safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and follow radiation safety principles for handling radioactive materials and waste.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or an associate degree in a science-related field is a plus.
• 0–2 years of experience in shipping/receiving, materials handling, or a lab/facility setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, inspect incoming shipments of laboratory supplies and non-hazardous radioactive isotopes.
• Perform radiation surveys and wipe tests on packages using survey meters and dosimetry equipment.
• Log and maintain receiving records, chain-of-custody documentation, and radioactive material inventory.
• Maintain inventory of non-hazardous isotopes and materials, tracking decay status and disposal readiness.
• Transport and stage supplies and isotopes to storage areas, labs, or use locations.
• Collect and stage waste for decay-in-storage, pickup, or disposal with accurate logs.
• Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages to Facility Operations leadership.
• Assist with general materials handling, housekeeping, and facility upkeep tasks.
• Complete required radiation safety and hazardous waste compliance training.
