Rochester Regional Health's Unity Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform radiographic procedures with attention to patient comfort and safety. The role is in the Diagnostic Radiology department in Rochester, NY, with a Mon-Fri 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm schedule and on-call/holiday coverage.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS license (or permit with licensure within six months), ARRT certification (if licensed after 2007), and 2 years of college or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • 2 years college certificate or equivalent.
  • NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
  • If licensed after 2007, ARRT Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • New Graduates: official transcript or registrar's letter confirming program completion accepted upon graduation.
  • Primary source education verification required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for radiography of patients in all assigned areas.
  • Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts.
  • Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary.
  • Cleans, restocks, and prepares rooms on a daily basis.
  • Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
  • Practices and is held accountable for excellent customer service behaviors.
  • Provide on-call coverage for the Diagnostic Section of Radiology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Radiology Technologist Department: Diagnostic Radiology Location: Unity Hospital Schedule: Mon-Fri 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm On-Call/Holidays: 2-3 on calls /month; 2-3 holidays/year

SUMMARY: Performs and assists radiologists in performing radiographic procedures, obtaining films of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for radiography of patients in all assigned areas.
  • Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts.
  • Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 years college certificate or equivalent.
  • NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
  • If licensed after 2007, must obtain the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire.
  • New Graduates: An official transcript from an accredited school or a letter emailed directly from the school’s registrar’s office confirming program completion will be accepted upon graduation.
  • Primary source education verification required within 90 days of start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Radiologic Technologist experience.
  • BLS Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee’s physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.

PAY RANGE:

PAY RANGE: $28.75 - $38.75 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14626 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
